Prof Tuners 8000 Pcl-e

Post by varadero »

Hello,
I am grateful for the Altdvb update, you have done a great job again.
My question is not being able to use my prof tuners 8000 pcl-e tv card with bda 2.3.0 driver. I can receive signals from satellite frequencies with the Bda driver, but no channels can be found. When I use the Dev_Prof.int driver of my prof tuners tv card that came with the cd, I can find channels in the scan. What is the difference between these two drivers?

Note: Sorry for the message I sent with Google translation, I don't know English.

Proof tuners Dev_Prof.int file is attached.

Hi ! Are you using any DiSEqC switch ? My Dev_BdaDriver.int doesn't have yet implemented DiSEqC for Prof Rev. S2-8000 tuners.
You could try CrazyCat's interface Dev_Bda2Driver.int from here: https://github.com/crazycat69/AltBDA2/releases

If you will still have some issues - Prof drivers have got old bug related to TS Capture filter.

You can try to use this .reg file, it will delete one registry key related to Prof 8000 driver.
https://www120.zippyshare.com/v/alANvQRp/file.html
It is helping also for issues with Prof8000 on other DVB players.

Additionally - ProfTuners provided their own device interface for AltDVB: Dev_Prof.int (made by MaxWin). It is working fine with AltDVB, DiSEqC is supported, uploaded it here for you: https://www120.zippyshare.com/v/MBgskR6Y/file.html - just extract and put to Devices folder ;) You can try it as an alternative to BDA2 ;)

Looked at your video, please try .reg file from me - Dev_Prof.int is working for you, so it seems that you are facing that TS Capture Filter issue - bug in Prof 8000 Drivers.

.reg file should help for this. Without .reg file the same issue will be for example in TransEdit app - signal is present, but TS is not going to DVB app.

After adding .reg file you may need to restart your PC.

You can also check Device Manager for driver version. Latest Prof 8000 drivers were 2.0.0.5 from 2013-06-21 (eventually 2.0.0.4 were also re-released sometime in 2016, with added digital signature, but sha1 only, signed by TBS). ProfTuners website is now defunct, so I can upload latest drivers for you, if .reg file won't help...

Probably that can be fixed also on application level, in Dev_BdaDriver.int by altx (by "blacklisting" Prof 8000 DVBT AVStream TS Capture?), but it may not be an easy task, without having this card - cannot test on the spot. But because this issue might be seen in other DVB players and it is really a drivers issue, .reg file is in my opinion a recommended way for fixing this.

I think that the basic reason of this issue is that Prof 8000 Drivers have got defined DVB-T interfaces (and analog input interfaces), beside DVB-S/S2, but this card has got no DVB-T hardware. Maybe producer had considered to make some combo satellite+terrestrial card, but that has never happened? Probably some DVB players are stucking, by connecting BDA DVBS/S2 Tuner/Demod to DVBT AVStream Capture ({5ea9c066-1dfe-41c5-a2de-bf766e83c98e}) instead of DVBS/S2 AVStream TS Capture ({559852E9-83D2-48ab-81E9-D06297FF1397}). Deletion of Prof 8000 DVBT AVStream TS Capture from registry seems to help DVB apps to connect to the right chain of filters.

.reg file solutions is safe and has got no drawbacks, beside you may have to re-apply it on every "big" Windows update (eg from 1903 to 1909 etc.) ;) But it won't work, if you have got no admin access to PC. In this case, usage of Dev_Prof.int should be OK.
